Notice of 2025 AGM, Call for Nominations, and Notice of Change to Rules


The Auckland University Rugby Football Club (“AURFC”) notifies all members that the Club’s Annual General Meeting (“AGM”) with be held at its Clubrooms at Colin Maiden Park, 71 – 73 Merton Road, St Johns, on Monday 24 November 2025 from 6 pm.

Prior to the AGM, the AURFC’s Board calls for nominations for the following elected positions to be voted on at the AGM:


Officers


  • President – the incumbent Dave Clark is seeking re-election.
  • Secretary – the incumbent Simon Cartwright is seeking re-election.
  • Treasurer – the incumbent David Sisam is seeking re-election.
  • Honorary Solicitor – the incumbent Brad Davis is seeking re-election.


General Board Members


Two positions are available:


  • Richard Cawson’s 2-year term has ended.  Richard is seeking re-election for a 3-year term.
  • Jamie Whalley’s 3-year term has ended.  Jamie is seeking re-election for a 2-year term.


Other


The Board calls for nominations for life membership and notification of any matters which members would like to be included as part of the AGMs general business.


Any nominations and notifications must be received not later than Monday 17 November 2024. Nominations and notifications should be sent to the Simon Cartwright at simon.cartwright@heskethhenry.co.nz. 


Nominations must be in the form of a completed scanned copy of the AURFC AGM Nomination form which can be found on the AURFC website: http://www.aurfc.co.nz or requested from Simon Cartwright at the above email address.


Constitution


Under the Incorporated Societies Act 2022 (Act) the Club is required to re-register on the Incorporated Societies Register by April 2026.  Re-registration requires the Club to have a constitution that is compliant with the Act.


The Board is in the process of drafting a new constitution that is compliant with the Act but is consistent with the existing Rules. 


The draft constitution will be circulated to members shortly, with a request for comments.


Subject to members’ feedback, the Board expects to put the draft constitution to the members for a vote at the AGM.
