2010 AURFC Goals and Membership
Packages
We need your support.
The highlights of the 2009 season were a marked increase
in club camaraderie, game day attendance at an all time high,
the highest growth in senior playing numbers of any club in
the competition, and the culmination was witnessing a very
young Premier team make the Gallaher Shield final for the
first time since 2003.
The most significant event of the 2009 year was the establishment
of the John Drake Memorial Scholarship, which has also been
the catalyst in rejuvenating our important relationship with
the University of Auckland.
We have ambitious goals for 2010 and the 2011 Rugby World
Cup year. These include:
- To win the 2010 Gallaher Shield.
- To have all senior and age grade teams win their respective
competitions.
- To increase the number of AURFC players achieving representative
honours.
- To have 10 AURFC rugby teams, including the first ever
womans team and five under 85kg teams, the most of
any club in Auckland.
- To host and grow the AURFC National under 85kg sevens
tournament.
- To host and grow the University of Auckland inter-faculty
rugby tournament, with the 2011 goal to host a national
sevens tournament.
- To increase the number of players graduating from the
AURFC Rugby Academy.
- To implement the 2010 AURFC Reach Out Schools
Rugby Development program, helping to foster the game of
rugby at nominated schools.
- To host the Auckland Secondary schools sevens tournament.
- To host an international team for the 2011 Rugby World
Cup.
We now need your financial support and cooperation.
We look forward to seeing you all at the club at our member
nights and during the 2010 season.
Sincere regards,
Richard Cawson, AURFC President
